How to Install a Flyscreen Step-By-Step Guide
Before we dive into the step-by-step guide, gather everything you’ll need:
- Flyscreen
- Screen Clips (two small, and two large)
- Clear workspace
Step 1: Press Down the Small Clips
Start by pressing down the two small clips at the bottom of the flyscreen frame. These clips will secure the screen into the window frame and make installation easier.
Step 2: Insert the Flyscreen
Hold the flyscreen so it’s aligned with the window opening. Push the screen up and to the right so the top and right side of the frame slot into position. This movement helps position the screen correctly within the window frame.
Step 3: Secure the Bottom of the Screen
Once the top and right side are in place, push the bottom of the flyscreen into the frame. Then slide the entire screen back to the left to ensure an even fit.
Step 4: Lock the Screen in Place
Take the two large clips and insert them into the sides of the window frame. These clips will hold the flyscreen securely and prevent any movement.
That’s it! Your flyscreen should now sit neatly and firmly in place. Take a step back and check that it’s properly aligned and there are no gaps. A well-fitted flyscreen should look tidy but more importantly, it should keep unwanted bugs out. If you installed your flyscreen properly, it should sit evenly and remain secure over time, preventing any loose edges where insects could sneak in.
If you run into any trouble, double-check the position of the clips and make sure the frame is sitting evenly. If it wobbles, it means that the screen is not installed evenly, so make small adjustments with the small clips to get the perfect fit.
